Amanda Messick Murals
I earned my BFA in Fine Art from Western Carolina University, where I developed the foundation for the work I create today. My art is part of the Dean's Collection, and I received the Director's Choice Award at the 55th Annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition.
My love for mural painting began with an apprenticeship under Jeanie Edwards, a wonderfully talented artist and the gallery owner of Jeanie Edwards Fine Art in Highlands, NC. From 2023 to 2025, Jeanie and I had the joy of collaborating on five murals together in Branson, Missouri — she brought her signature animals, insects, and butterflies to life, while I got to add the florals and greenery. It was such a meaningful experience, and I'll always be grateful for everything she taught me, not just about painting technique, but about the heart behind the mural process — from pricing to project management to bringing a client's vision to life.
2025 marked a special milestone for me — completing my first solo mural, a 1,700 square foot exterior piece on the Dillsboro Creative Arts Center at the Green Energy Park in Dillsboro, North Carolina.
Although large-scale murals are my specialty, I bring the same creative energy to projects of every size!
